Metabolic transformation by the superfamily of cytochromes P450 (CYPs) plays an important
role in the detoxification of xenobiotics such as drugs, environmental pollutants, and food
additives. Endogenous substrates of CYPs include fatty acids, sterols, steroids, and bile
